Ecuador is a representative democratic republic in South America, bounded by Colombia on the north, by Peru on the east and south, and by the Pacific Ocean on the west.

North-west of South America. Ecuador has a coastline on the Pacific Ocean. Colombia is to its north and Peru to its east and south. The Galapagos Islands (Colon Archipelago), 1,000 Km off the coast, are part of Ecuador.
