COTE D' IVOIRE

Location

West Africa. Ivory Coast (French version of the country is Cote d'ivoire) has a south-facing coastline on the Gulf of Guinea. Liberia and Guinea are located to the west. Mali and upper Volta (Burkina Feso) to the north and Ghana to the east.

Geography

Most of the inhabitants live along the sandy coastal region; apart from the capital area, the forested interior is sparsely populated.
